Brunch Bliss at School Bakery and Cafe in Toronto

In the heart of Toronto’s condo-loving Liberty Village hood sits one of the cities very best brunch spots, School Bakery and Cafe. I pulled open the door and was welcomed by two friends, a sudden heat wave, the pleasant smell of fresh baked goods and the sound of a fresh cracked egg splattering into a pan of butter.

You have to get here early on a weekend or at least come prepared to wait. The theme of the establishment is school. Servers wear student uniforms and the decorum reminds one what an expensive private school might look like (in your wildest dreams).

We ordered the essential morning latte, Eggs Benedict with home fries, an omelette stuffed with Swiss cheese and a massive plate of french toast with sweet chocolate, pistachios and orange slices. I took home a blueberry and white chocolate scone for the road (obviously).
