My room mate’s name is Erica Mawson. She has a love/hate relationship with teeth. She works at this design firm by day and comes back to our home and does her own quirky art by night. Did I mention our flat was featured on the Apartment Therapy Design blog? Your can find our house tour here.
Please read the following artist statement.
Erica Mawson is a freelance artist living in the Queen West neighbourhood of Toronto. Erica’s work is a playful reminder that cheerful colours and hits of humour can be found in some of the strangest places. Although Erica studied professionally within the medium of paint, Erica has expanded her horizon to include the more tactile material of moulding clay.
Erica’s current project is wearable art; a mouthful of colour with moulded fimo teeth! Although actual human teeth (whether they be golden, crooked or missing) give Erica the willies- the pinned teeth allow Erica to face a fear with whimsy!
To request a hand crafted tooth please contact her directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
Not a fan of dental fashion? Feel free to request a project unique to your own tastes, Erica welcomes the challenge!
