Huff Estates Winery and Oneo Gallery

I visited Huff Estates Winery and Oneo Galleryduring my Prince Edward County FORD Foodie Road Trip immediately following a tour and tasting at Waupoos Estate Winery.

The Huff Estates Winery grounds were some of the nicest in The County that we had a chance to visit. The property features beautiful lush vineyard, an on site Inn, The Oneo Gallery and The Winery.

Huff Estates Winery grand opening was in June of 2004. Huff’s state-of-the-art facility has the grape processing area and fermentation tanks sitting on top of a hill allowing for a natural gravity flow into a temperature controlled barrel cellar below which sits just behind the tasting room. Complete with a moat-surrounded patio, kitchen for light lunches, floor to ceiling windows and even a heli-pad, this is unlike any other winery in the area and offers a unique experience.

In 2006 the owners expanded the estate and constructed the 21 suite Inn at Huff Estates. This luxurious accommodation is contemporary in design but has a country feel as the rooms either overlook the vineyard or the garden feature.  All rooms feature a private pergola patio for guests to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery (literally a hop skip and a jump from the tasting room).

Oeno Gallery has had a long-term success in Prince Edward County and the Huff Estates team was ecstatic to add them to the property in 2009. The gallery offers fine contemporary art and sculptures from local, national and international artists. There are new artist openings throughout the year making this a unique visit every time.

We started our tour by meandering through the Oneo Gallery. We then stopped into the winery where the sommelier had been waiting for us to arrive. We enjoyed his enthusiastic tour of the production facility and cellar. We then sampled several wines on the patio while listening to a live band which played on the grass in front of the vineyard. Such a picturesque way to spend a hot summer afternoon!

We sampled the following bottles:

Vidalescco Sparkling

PEC Cuvee Peter F. Huff Methode Champenoise

Southbay Vineyards Chardonnay

Southbay Vineyards Rose

Zero de Gris
