Review: Library Bar at Fairmont Royal York, Toronto

I had the pleasure of visiting The Library Bar twice during my Weekend at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel. My first visit was for a few drinks prior to my restaurant review at Epic. My first two beverages were on the special Queens Jubilee Cocktail List, such a special treat.

Spicy Bar Mix with wasabi peas and craison

The Koh-i-Noor

Named after the legendary 105 carat diamond which forms the center piece of the Crown of Queen Elizabeth II. Pressed cucumber, Hendricks Gin, Elderflower liqueur and ice cold Moet and Chandon with crystallized rose petal and spritz of lemon essence.

The Darya-ye Noor

Largest Flawless Diamond in existence. Fresh Ontario Strawberries with Royal York honey and Eight Below Icewine Vodka

White Lady

Manhattan

After our St Lawrence Market tour the following morning we popped into the Library Bar once more to enjoy the hotel’s classic Afternoon Tea program. Mike and I each selected our favorite loose leaf teas and spent the next few hours sampling sweet pastries and savory dainty sandwiches.

Cascade Organic Peppermint Tea

Kyoto Cherry Rose Tea

Moet Chandon Brut Imperial Champagne

Crumpets with Seasonal Berries and Royal York Honey

Smoked Salmon Canapes

PEI Lobster and Mango Salad

tomato carpaccio, celery cress, saffron brandy aioli

Nova Scotia Smoked Salmon

red onion, arugula cress, dill caper creme fraiche

Smoked Turkey Breast

white cheddar, sliced cucumber, bing cherry, niagara ice wine preserve

Champagne Goat Cheese

baby watercress, strawberries

Pastry Swans filled with Chantilly Cream

Strawberry Tarts

Royal York Honey and White Chocolate Madeleines

Lemon Financiers

Cranberry Scones with Harmony Dairies Organic Cream and Preserves

#327 restaurant reviewed in Ontario since moving to Toronto in 2010.
