Fitting that one of my last restaurant reviews in Toronto before heading out of the city for a month would be at a fast food joint in The Eaton Centre. I only had a few more hours left to clean up my apartment, pack four weeks of socks and underwear as well partake in a bon voyage party with my friends…but I of course found the time to chow down on a burrito.
I had recently been contacted by Maverick PR regarding their client Mucho Burrito and was sent a $30 gift certificate to adventure through their Mexican centric menu. I walked to the mall in the late afternoon and spent a few hours wandering about looking for Christmas gift inspirations. After ooh’ing and ahh’ing at Zara threads I made my way to the entrance of the Urban Eatery. This would be my first visit to the malls revitalized and glamorized food court. I was impressed by the layout as well as its contemporary design.
I looped around the entire Urban Eatery space a bit in awe. Once I had done a complete tour of the mall’s glorified fast food court I found myself standing in front of a long line which snaked its way towards Mucho Burrito.
I wanted to make sure to sample as many of their meats as possible so mix and matched throughout their menu. After piling my tray to the brim I couldn’t help but laugh when the cashier advised me the cost of my meal was exactly $30 (not a penny more)! I tossed my maxed out gift certificates and found myself a seat.
Mucho Burrito provides wholesome and affordable Mexican inspired grub for those who are looking for a quick bite. Their quesadilla with chicken is a great snack dipped in sour cream and mild salsa. My favorite taco was filled with juicy carnitas and topped with fresh corn, bean and cilantro. The bbq beef burrito I enjoyed was so huge that I wasn’t able to finish it all in one sitting. I wrapped half of it up to take home and later that evening I indulged in a Mucho Burrito encore. Popped in the oven for ten minutes at 350 degrees and served with an ice cold lime margarita. A satisfying sequel.
